Boy Scouts learn flag etiquette on Flag Day
June 2016

In Lima, Illinois, Boy Scouts learn appropriate flag etiquette on Flag Day at Camp
Saukenauk.

These scouts learned how to raise, lower, and fold the US Flag.

Instructors emphasize the importance of not allowing the flag to come in contact with
the ground.

Just a few of the skills scouts need to earn the Citizenship in the Nation Merit Badge.

Camp Director Nathan Smith says it's vital all participating citzens understand the
significance of proper flag ettiquette.

More than 100 scouts are attending this week's scout camp.

The Mississippi Valley Council and the camp will serve roughly 1,000 boy scouts by the
end of the summer.
